Love & Devotion (18 of 21)

Deuteronomy 30:20 (New Living Translation) "You can make this choice by loving the Lord your God, obeying him, and committing yourself firmly to him. This is the key to your life. And if you love and obey the Lord, you will live long in the land the Lord swore to give your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob."
-The Love Connection

Alright, since yesterday's post was so long, I figured for balance sake that I'd get right to the point today. If we love God for real, then we will be obedient to him. Our obedience to God is linked to our life's positioning. And love is step one in being where God wants us to be.

Allow me to briefly unpack the above summery. The is a place/a destination that God has promised himself to give to you. He wants you to have it for generations to come but it's dependent on your obedience to his word. Doing what God says isn't hard if you genuinely love him. Love is the connection to longevity in the place of promise.

My favorite line in the verse is 'This is the key to your life.' Education is important, discipline is a necessity and wisdom is worth having, but the true key to your life is 'loving God, obeying him, and committing yourself firmly to him.' Now that you know the key to life, make the love connection with God and live long in the place that God has promised!
