The Last Word (Sermon Outline)
Introduction: Ecclesiastes explains the meaning of life and how it should be lived. The title of the book is interpreted to mean 'The Gatherer' or 'The Teacher'.
Transition: With godly wisdom, this book gives to us the "The Last Word" for how we should close 2015 and even how we should begin and live out 2016.
Exposition: Let's explore this last word in three movements...
1) Highly Reverence God (fear God)
This involves priority and humility
Reference...Isaiah 6:1-3 (attending him/covered their faces)
2) Positively Respond to God (and obey his commands)
This involves will and work
Reference...Genesis 12:1-6 (so Abram departed/he took...)
3) Individually be Responsible to God (for this is everyone's duty)
This involves discipline and determination
Reference...Genesis 6:9-22 (verse 22 "So Noah did everything exactly as God had commanded him.")
Conclusion: verse 14 admonishes us by saying that "God will judge us for everything we do, including every secret thing, whether good or bad." Let's live like God is watching. There is an authority to answer to for all of our actions!

#BeTheChange
On Sunday 12/13, there was a senseless and shameful shooting in the neighborhood of our church. It claimed the life of an innocent 14 year old young lady. No longer does the church have the right to remain silent. This is the time for us to act immediately and aggressively, to #BeTheChange in our community! We pray for swift and strong justice for the actions of the shooters, conviction and salvation of their souls and for the family of Ta'shuntis Roberts, to find God's grace in the midst of their grief.
Don't miss this Sunday's message!!! Pastor Walker will dissect Judges 11:1-3 (verses 1-28). It's going to be a real, raw and relevant time of study, that will challenge us to #BeTheChange. This isn't the Sunday to miss!!!

You Can Do It, We Can Help (Sermon Notes)
-Recollection...they'll remind you of who you really are and not who you think or have portrayed
-Reconstruction...they'll help you exercise your faith and your gifts to prepare you for your destiny
Transition: The make up of your inner circle (those who are close to you in major moments) matters. Since the choice is yours, choose wisely...
Exposition:
1) We can help if you be quiet
2) We can help if you relax
3) We can help you keep the main thing, the main thing

5 Alive (Prayer) Sermon Notes
Today we concluded the 5 Alive series through Acts 2:42. The purpose of these teachings, has been to focus our faith community on the 5 facets that allowed the early church to thrive (teaching, fellowship, meals, the Lord's Super, prayer). Here's the outline from today's message...
The quality of any relationship is dependant on how honest and how healthy the communication is.
1) Jesus exemplified (Mark 1:35) and encouraged (Luke 18:1) us to pray.
2) We should live lives of prayer.
-Celebrate God in prayer (John 11:41-42)
-Consult God in prayer (Matthew 26:39)
-Confer our worry on God in prayer (1 Peter 5:7)
3) Pray unselfishly with passion (hearts desire) and purity (that they might be saved). Reference Romans 10:1.
*Challenge: be intentional about making time for God this week in prayer and pray for the world to fall in love with Jesus as we have.

The Bottom Line
Philippians 4:13 says 'For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.' I opened by suggesting that no circumstance is unbeatable! That's an intentional interjection, to encourage you because you can get through this! It doe's not matter what your 'this' may be, it's beatable! Often, once we've beaten an obstacle, we have the tendency to get besides ourselves. So, it's important to learn to celebrate without boasting. On the other hand, in bad situations we must learn that we can't get stuck there. The bad is beaten by being content but not comfortable. Become aware of and accepting of where you are in life, but be plotting on how to move on to something better.
I felt that the power of the passage is found in Paul's spiritual maturity. He understands that our journey is only successful when we exchange our inability for God's indwelling.
Here's the meat of the matter: At the conclusion of our existances, two decisions compose our summation...
1) Make the right SELECTION (For I can do everything through Christ) Our lives need a personal relationship with Jesus Christ! The prerequisite to operation through Christ, is to get in Christ. Reference John 15:7
2) Magnify the right SOURCE (who gives me strength) Our posture is to praise God, but God's plan is to prosper us. Reference Psalm 100 and Jeremiah 29:11
*Here's the bottom line, CHOOSE WISELY. Only God can take our ordinary life and do the Extraordinary with it!
Be intentional this week, to make the right choices! Stay blessed!
